This bungalow court is one of several which can be found in this neighborhood. Bungalow courts were popular in Southern California from 1910 to 1930 and were an innovative housing solution. They combined the privacy and lush landscaping usually found in a single-family residence with the lower rents found in multi-family buildings. This particular court was designed in the popular Tudor Revival style of the Twenties. An older house which sat on this lot was moved to the rear and remodelled to fit with the newer units. The large front trees shade the complex which features such attractive details asn half-timbering, bay windows and brick porch walls. A central light fixture in the court is an additional design feature. This court is on of several which been nominated as a thematic grouping to the National Register of Historic Places.
