The Rose House is a good intact example of a single-family residence in the International Style as it was practiced during the Mid-twentieth century. The house was designed by Richard Rose, who was an architect in the Pasadena-based firm of Culver Heaton & Associates. The house retains a high degree of integrity from the period of significance and appears to meet the criteria for listing as a City of Pasadena Landmark under Criterion C: It embodies the distinctive characteristics of a locally significant architectural style, property type, architect and period.
