Fully inspired by the work of Mies van der Rohe, the 2,150 s.f., one-story flat-roofed house is rectangular in plan. It is a simple, modular-like glass pavilion framed in redwood (originally conceived as a steel frame). The house has planar walls organized into five bays, each with equally spaced full-height glass windows spanning the entire front elevation. The understated front entry is in the center bay. The transparency of the glazed walls, the brown coloring of the framing, the low profile of the house, the simplicity of the composition, and the grouping of monumental eucalyptus trees in front of the house recede the building into the landscaping. A detached carport, identical in design to the house, is east of the house.
