The Bea House #2 (the owner, Alvaro Bea, previously commissioned the architects to design a house at 421 Mooresque Drive, which was built in 1955) is a good intact example of a Mid-century Modern house (Post and Beam subtype) as it was practiced during the Mid-twentieth century and was designed by master architects Buff & Hensman. The house retains a high degree of integrity from the period of
significance when viewed from the street. The Bea House #2 meets the criteria for listing as a City of Pasadena Historic Landmark under Criterion 3: It embodies the distinctive characteristics of a locally
significant architectural style, architect, property type and period.
